Then sign up for one of our Saturday workshops! Geared toward makers of all levels, our workshops give you the opportunity to learn how to use our state-of-the-art machinery with the help of an expert. Take advantage of hands-on learning as you work with industry professionals.

3D printer building

3D Printing Intro

Saturdays 9:30 - 3:30pm | $60

In this class, you will learn about the different types of printing, building materials, 3D files, and print software. You will learn how to prepare a file for the best chance of success; prepare the build plate; remove the finished part, and do any necessary post-processing. After this class, you will be qualified to reserve and independently use our 3D
printers, if you become a member. This class uses Enders and Prusa 3D Printers, which have different qualities and strengths.

Laser Cutter Intro

Saturdays 9:30 - 3:30pm | $60

This class covers everything you need to know about using and designing for the laser cutters. You will learn fundamentals like vector drawing, material safety, color coding, and focus height, as well as best practices for working in a community shop. You will leave this class with a wooden plaque or table mat. Taking this class qualifies you to reserve and use the laser cutters if you become a member, so you can get to work making keychains, boxes, plaques, signs, ornaments, and more!

Sewing Machine

Sewing Machine Intro

Saturdays 9:30 - 12pm | $30

This class provides an introduction to sewing machines and basic sewing skills. During the session, you will learn
five basic stitches; the sewing machine features; and have a general knowledge of the needed basic sewing supplies. Taking this class qualifies you to reserve and use the sewing machine if you become a member. It is a great way to get started with your machine. If you have your own, we highly recommend you bring it. Please let us know if you will need a machine.

Basic Alterations & Upcycling

Saturdays 1 - 3:30pm | $30

Update and personalize your favorite clothing items and more! In this class, you will learn simple fixes for your clothes such as hemming and size adjustments as well as how to transform thrifted items into new trending pieces. As the program progresses, the teacher will respond to the group's needs and interests. Before each class, you will get an email advising you on what to bring. This class is available for students who have completed the Sewing Machine Intro course. If you have your own machine, we highly recommend you bring it. Please let us know if you
will need a machine.
