Resources to help you get the in-demand skills you need to succeed

From May 1 through June 30, participants can earn points with a certificate of completion for a Foundational Skills course (worth one point) or Career Essentials Certificate for a Career pathway (worth 10 points). The more you learn, the more points you earn! Top winners in each category can earn cash prizes.

Skill-It-Thon is a statewide digital skills initiative, generously supported by Microsoft TechSpark and built upon the Skills for Jobs learning pathways. The initiative is designed to drive inclusive economic growth in Mississippi by helping job seekers successfully navigate the paths to in-demand roles in a more digital economy.

 

These role-based learning paths can be completed in a short amount of time and provide opportunities for people—at any stage in their career—to reskill and upskill for in-demand roles.

How can you participate?

Register

Fill out the registration form. Once you submit your registration, you will be assigned a unique participant identification number through a confirmation email. 

Please save this ID number, as you will need to refer to it frequently throughout the competition.

Start Learning!

Click on any learning pathway or course on the Skill-IT-Thon website to be routed to the corresponding LinkedIn page. Watch all videos and take all quizzes with each resource. After completing videos and quizzes, return to the courses page for further opportunities. (Note that only courses and pathways available through the Skill-IT-Thon website count towards the challenge.)

Create a LinkedIn account

All of the learning pathways and courses use the LinkedIn Learning website. You will need to sign up for a free LinkedIn account. If you already have a LinkedIn account, you can participate in the Skill-IT-Thon with your existing account.
