Executive Director – Bean Path

The Executive Director of Bean Path serves as the operational leader responsible for advancing the organization’s mission through strategic planning, financial stewardship, and community engagement. This role oversees all departments and site staff, ensuring cross-functional alignment and robust support systems. The Executive Director prepares and communicates fundraising performance analyses, leads budget reviews and forecasting across locations, and supervises financial modeling and major systems implementations related to cost and inventory control.

 

Beyond internal operations, the Executive Director represents Bean Path publicly—engaging in media appearances, cultivating partnerships with public and private entities, and securing financial support through grant writing and fundraising. They develop and launch new programming while fostering a culture of peace, creativity, and innovation. A key priority is retaining a diverse, high-performing team and volunteer base through coaching and professional development, ensuring Bean Path’s services and relationships are strong enough to meet or exceed strategic goals.

 

Makerspace Director – The Bean Path

The Makerspace Director is the operational lead for The Bean Path’s physical innovation hub, responsible for designing and implementing hands-on programming that brings the maker culture to life in Jackson and beyond. As the resident maker expert, this role oversees daily operations, manages a cross-functional team, and collaborates with other directors to ensure alignment with organizational goals. The Director is charged with acquiring and maintaining tools, machinery, and safety protocols, while also shaping the physical space and sourcing cutting-edge technologies within budget. They develop educational materials, co-create engaging STEAM programs with the Program Manager, and empower the STEAM Team apprentices to lead, teach, and grow within the space.

 

Beyond operations, the Makerspace Director plays a vital role in cultivating a vibrant, inclusive maker ecosystem. They support the curation of local makers’ work, contribute to marketing and volunteer coordination, and maintain inventory systems that keep learning and creativity flowing. Working closely with the Executive Director, the Makerspace Director helps steward The Bean Path’s strategic vision, ensuring the space remains safe, welcoming, and aligned with the Collaborative Space Model. This role is ideal for a passionate builder, educator, and systems thinker ready to inspire innovation and community transformation in the heart of Mississippi’s Tech District.

 

STEAM Director – The Bean Path

The STEAM Director leads the design and delivery of youth-centered programming that inspires curiosity, creativity, and innovation across science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. This role is responsible for recruiting families, attending local fairs and school events, and creating engaging educational experiences that reflect the needs and interests of Jackson’s youth. The Director develops or sources instructional materials, builds dynamic classes and workshops, and empowers the STEAM Team apprenticeship program to lead and grow within the space.

 

In collaboration with the Executive Director, the STEAM Director ensures that all youth activities align with The Bean Path’s strategic mission and values. They create onboarding procedures for new STEAM leaders and volunteers, maintain health and safety protocols, and help foster a welcoming, interactive environment for all visitors. This role also supports board communications and contributes to a seamless organizational structure that elevates youth voices and community impact.

 

Engagement Coordinator – The Bean Path

The Engagement Coordinator serves as the frontline connector between The Bean Path and its community, managing communications, public outreach, and event engagement. This role handles incoming emails, phone calls, voicemails, and online inquiries, while ensuring timely updates to platforms like Google and the Bean Path website. The Coordinator attends community events, sets up informational booths, and collects contact information to grow the organization’s network. They also manage and update the CRM system, track engagement data, and forward correspondence to relevant team members, ensuring smooth internal communication.

 

In addition to outreach, the Engagement Coordinator oversees The Bean Path store, developing product concepts and promotional campaigns across physical and digital platforms. They support donor and visitor retention by sharing updates and impact stories, assist in volunteer coordination, and contribute to marketing efforts through newsletters, social media, and public relations. This role plays a key part in building partnerships, nurturing stakeholder relationships, and helping The Bean Path expand its visibility and impact across Jackson and beyond.

 

Digital Marketing Coordinator – The Bean Path

The Digital Marketing Coordinator plays a key role in capturing and sharing the story of The Bean Path through compelling visual and digital content. This position supports various projects by gathering high-quality photos, videos, and interviews, and contributes to the creation of social media templates, posters, and other graphic materials. The Coordinator also assists in producing and managing monthly Tech Talk events, ensuring smooth setup and digital promotion.

 

Working closely with the Marketing Director and executive leadership, the Digital Marketing Coordinator helps bring campaigns to life and ensures consistent messaging across platforms. This role requires creativity, flexibility, and a collaborative spirit—ready to jump in on special projects and support programs that elevate The Bean Path’s visibility and community impact.
