Bean Path's Older Adults Technology Services (OATS) program helps older adults build confidence using today's technology through hands-on, beginner-friendly classes and personalized support. Whether you're learning how to use your smartphone, send emails, attend video calls, stay safe online, or explore new digital tools, our instructors are here to guide you every step of the way.

Our goal is simple: make technology easier, more accessible, and empowering for every older adult.

Build confidence using everyday technology with hands-on instruction covering smartphone basics, internet navigation, email, online safety, video calls, and other essential digital skills designed specifically for older adults.

Beginning OATS Class

Expand your digital knowledge through interactive lessons focused on productivity tools, cloud storage, online services, mobile apps, digital organization, troubleshooting, and practical technology skills for everyday life.

Advanced OATS Class

Discover how artificial intelligence can simplify everyday tasks, enhance creativity, improve productivity, and help you confidently use today's emerging AI tools through engaging, beginner-friendly instruction.

OATS Artificial CLass

I've taken multiple OATS classes because I want to learn everything they have to offer. These classes have replaced my fear of technology with confidence. They teach practical skills we can use every day while preparing us for a world that's constantly changing. I'd much rather have the knowledge and not need it than need it and not have it. The Makerspace is phase one of The Bean Path Tech District, a mixed-use development on 21-acres in downtown Jackson. The 6,000 plus square foot building is Jackson's premier STEAM hub and community workshop. Equipped with cutting-edge equipment, expert instructions and unique programming, The Makerspace engages, inspires and empowers Jacksonians and visitors to dream, create, and innovate! It provides individuals of all skill levels with the tools, resources, and support they need to turn their ideas into reality.
